The History of FBCCP
Faywood Boulevard Child Care Program (FBCCP) is licensed by the Ministry of Education under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014. The Provincial Government standards ensure that all our programs provide a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment with quality care for the children we serve.
FBCCP opened its doors in 1985 and is a not-for-profit community- based organization with a charitable status. We accept children from the age of two and a half that are fully toilet trained through to the age of twelve. We are located in the Faywood ABC public school in the Bathurst and Wilson area. Our meals are catered and are freshly prepared and delivered each day.
Program Statement
Faywood Boulevard Child Care Program offers learning programs that are consistent with Ministry of Education policies, pedagogy and curriculum.
We believe that children learn best by pursuing their personal interests and goals and are able to make their own choices about materials and activities during the program time. As they pursue their choices and plans, children explore, ask and answer questions, solve problems, and interact with peers, program staff, volunteers, and students completing their placement.
Our Values & Principles
FBCCP recognize children as competent, capable, curious and rich in their potential to learn.
Our play based curriculum allows each child to explore their environment independently with caring staff to guide them as they grow and develop into their maximum potential. We aim to integrate all areas of the child’s development into their program in a holistic way as we recognize each child’s uniqueness.
We understand the importance of taking children’s stages of development as individuals with complex interplay between developmental factors, their unique family, community and life experiences.
- Encourage children to interact and communicate in a positive way and support their ability to self-regulate
- Foster the children’s exploration, play and inquiry
- Provide child-initiated and adult-supported experiences
- Offer opportunities to create authentic lasting relationships with others in the program
Activities
- drama, music, dance and visual arts
- physical literacy
- language and literacy
- nature, science and technology

Outdoor Play
Outdoor play is an integral part of the daily schedule and plays an important role in the development of children’s overall well-being. During outdoor play, we offer sufficient toys and equipment to support and enhanced the daily planned activities.
