Our Nursery Program focuses on the overall development of the child with a focus on social skills.

ACTIVITIES: The program will have a maximum of 8 children to 1 educator. The children will participate in a variety of crafts, cognitive games, sensory activities (playdough, sand, water) learning circles, dramatic play and other planned activities.
OUTDOORS: Time is spent outdoors on a daily basis, weather permitting, in our enclosed playground with a variety of bicycles, sand toys and sports equipment.
PARENTS: We encourage the participation of parents through visits such as reading a book, baking, singing songs, and more.
Preschool
Our Preschool Program focuses on the overall development of the child with a focus on social skills in the first half of the school year.

ACTIVITIES: Our preschool program offers enriched opportunities through play to support each child’s language and literacy, cognitive, gross motor, social and emotional growth. We promote self help skills with an emphasis in preparing the children for kindergarten. Activities are planned based on the observation of the children’s engagement during the program and are designed with the children’s interests and needs in mind.
OUTDOORS, FOOD & REST TIME: The Child Care and Early Years Act requires that children attending care in a licensed centre must participate in at least two hours of outdoor play each day, weather permitting. Children enrolled full time are offered an am snack from 9-9:30 am, along with 1 light snack at 2:15 pm and a hot catered peanut and nut-free lunch lunch at 11:15 am. Rest time is from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. Each child has his / her own individual cot and those children that do not nap are able to get up after a 1/2-hour rest period and participate in quiet activities.
PARENTS: The Lillio (formerly HiMama) application is used by the program staff to communicate with parents and guardians each day. They have access to updates about their individual child’s participation in activities and can view and share photos, videos and information with the teachers and directors.
Before & After School Kindergarten
The Before and After School Kindergarten Program is offered to children in junior and senior kindergarten.

ACTIVITIES & OUTDOORS: In our kindergarten programs the children have an opportunity each day to engage in in a variety of activities indoor and outdoor. These include but are not limited to cognitive, creative, language literacy and numeracy, gross motor and problem solving. Children are escorted to and from school.
FOOD: Children who attend the before care program are offered a light breakfast between 7 am – 8 am. Children that attend after school program are offered a nutritious snack. On PA days, Winter Breaks, and March break children are required to bring a peanut and nut-free lunch.
PARENTS: Parents are encouraged to be active participants in our aftercare programs by volunteering their time to cook, do a special activity, and/or share any special talents.
Before and After School Age
The Before and After School Age Program is offered to children 6-12 years old.

Our skilled and experience staff plan and implement daily experiences based on the children’s interest and needs. These experiences take place indoor and outdoor based on the emergent play-based curriculum. We encourage the children to do their homework, but it is not required.

Summer Programs
Faywood Blvd. Childcare Centre is pleased to offer a summertime experience to children between the ages of 2½ – 12 years old.
Our primary goal is to provide your child with a fun and safe summer. We offer a quality program with trained, qualified staff.
All activities are planned with your child’s interest and abilities in mind.
Kindergarten and School Age children must bring their own peanut and nut-free lunch and the center will provide a nutritious catered pm snack.
